This full ankle support is an indispensable product for your “toolbox” if you have ever suffered from an ankle strain or sprain, since wearing an ankle compression sleeve post-injury has been shown through research to reduce re-injuries through increased proprioception - your bodies ability to know where it is in space.
For those suffering from Achilles Tendonitis or plantar fasciitis, the Full Ankle compression sleeve for swelling can provide warmth and support to your connective tissue, making it slightly more pliable and easing the pain associated with movement.
If you have arthritis of the ankle joint, this is a comfortable, easy-to-use product to help manage your pain.
What is the difference in styles? The Full Ankle support is a sock-like sleeve that slips over your foot and ankle, covering the entirety of your ankle joint as well as the arch of your foot and your Achilles tendon. It is the preferred ankle compression sleeve for swelling, plantar fasciitis, and Achilles tendonitis.
The X-Fit Ankle Helix provides support in a figure “8” pattern, covering the areas that are most often associated with a sprain or strain of the ankle joint. It does not cover as much of the arch of the foot and only covers the lowest portion of the Achilles tendon. It is the preferred product for proprioception and for those who want as little material in their shoe as possible.
Proper fit is important
Please measure the circumference of your ankle, from your heel diagonally crossing the front of your ankle where it bends and going around and back to your heel. See the diagram for a picture. Please do not measure your lower leg. Please do not order based on shoe size.
Which size should I order if I am in between sizes?
In general, leaner athletes prefer the smaller size. All others prefer the larger size.
Full Ankle Helix
Greg absolutely loves the sleeve and was able to perform two shows without pain both Thursday and Friday. He has not used the ankle x yet, but it fits him well. I plan on ordering another long sleeve one for him to have a spare .Size M is a perfect fit. ---TH
I have been having an issue with a tendon in my ankle which has been causing some relentless pain. I even lose sleep because of it. This brand of full ankle sleeve was recommended by my doctor so I purchased it and boy am I glad I did! Upon putting it on I felt some immediate relief from the pain with the compression I get from it.
My thought upon removing it from the package and feeling the weightlessness and softness of the material was that it was going to be worthless. To my surprise the amount of compression I get from this full ankle sleeve is perfect. The softness of the material allows me to wear it all day and night without any issues. I will be ordering another one so that I can have one on at all times while one is being washed and dried!
The brace is great for the ankle, but I can't use it because it immediately gives me foot sole pain. It causes plantar fasciitis.
Thank you for taking the time to review our product. I am sorry that the Full Ankle Helix does not meet your expectations. Sounds like the product size may be too small for you. While the compression of the smaller size will feel good on your ankle, it may compress your foot too much and cause the discomfort you are describing. I have sent you an email with our sizing chart so that you can remeasure your ankle and confirm which size is appropriate for you. Included in that email are options for returning the product for an exchange or for a refund. I look forward to your response.
