Flik TerraCore F1 Elongated

Love the balance and power this paddle offers. The feel for dinking at the net is true and the touch for defending/blocking is truly exceptional. Love this paddle and for the price point it outperforms some of the bigger names that are way more expensive

Sure does change the way of approaching the game. Obviously, ready power when you want it, but learning how to use the paddle to redirect, and force a soft game is the challenge. When do you think you'll get the paddle officially PB approved.

Hello,
Thank you for your honest review. That paddle is definitely a power paddle. We put it into production before the USAP changed the rules about power. Had we known the goalpost would change so dramatically, we would not have put this paddle into production, since it is not our goal to make paddles that we think are not good for the sport or that 'break in' after a period. The F1 paddles will not ever be USAP approved. Once they are gone, they will be gone.

Our subsequent TerraCore F1XC that we just released into the Sandbox has toned down power and amped up control. It is our patented TerraCore full foam core, so it playes like the Gen 4 paddles. But, none of our testers felt it would be considered too powerful. A paddle with just a few tweaks to it has passed its inital PBCoR testing and is now off to USAP for full testing. The F1XCs that are currently in the Sandbox are not exactly the same as the one sent to USAP for full testing, so we cannot say that the F1 XCs in the Sandbox are the same paddle as the USAP approved version, like we did with the FLIK Gen 3. However, for almost all players, the F1 XCs will play just like the paddle we hope to have USAP approved in the next few weeks.

Hope this helps answer your question. Thank you for your support of our veteran owned business

Great in the beginning but gets too poppy later on

I have been playing the F1 elongated for almost 1 month (3 plays a week). I must say this paddle does have a break-in period like most gen 3 paddles not like Gen 4 (CRBN Trufoam). The pop and power will get to increase a lot the more you play. Control is still okay, but you gotta dial in and brush the ball well to keep the ball in. I think the 4 layers of carbon fiber sheets do keep the plush feel of the paddle, but personally I feel the paddle will become hard to control at some point due to too poppy and powerful.

Hello,
Thank you for your honest review. I am curious about it, though. The paddle you reviewed (F1 Elongated) is a full face foam paddle, what people are calling Gen 4. Our Gen 3 paddle is the FLIK Gen 3. To date, we have not heard of anyone having an issue with the paddle core on the Gen 3 'breaking' after the 3 week period. So, if you are actually reviewing the Gen 3 paddle, please reach out to me.

If you are actually playing with the F1 Elongated Gen 4 paddle, those paddles cannot 'break in' since they have no honeycomb to core crush. We did have a few of those paddles that had some issues because of the core density. But, that issues on our Gen 4 paddles will usually cause a much lower sound and be accompanied by a the paddle feeling less powerful. So, maybe contact me about that issue, as well, if you think it is happening. You may have a defective paddle. You can reach me at customer.service@bodyhelix.com/.

At body helix, we do not make paddles that will intentionally 'break in'. We feel that those paddles are not good for the sport since there is currently no destructive testing from the USAP to catch the paddles once they become potentially dangerous. We have an incredibly high quality control which results in a very low defect rate on our paddles. But, occassionally there are paddles that will core crush (break in). This usually happens fairly quickly and is the result of air that got trapped in the honeycomb during the manufacturing process (in the case of those of us making paddles that don't intentionally 'break in'). Since we can't see the inside of the paddle to see if there is air, our main way to avoid the core crushing is choosing to work with manufacturers with very high standards. But, since we can't see inside the paddle, occassionallly there will be a paddle that slips by. If you have one of those honeycomb paddles, we will replace it.

If you have a Gen 4 paddle that has an issue, it is most likely a core issue because of the density that we used on this first iteration of our patent pending TerraCore. Please reach out to me so we can help make things right for you.

A must have!!!

I've been playing with the Body Helix TerraCore F1 Elongated paddle for a while now, and it has truly elevated my game. The combination of power, spin, and control is outstanding. The paddle has just crazy grit to generate spin while still offering a solid, smooth feel on every shot. Whether I'm at the net or driving from the baseline, the responsiveness and consistency are top-notch. Highly recommend this paddle for anyone looking to step up their game!

What a blast!

This paddle is by far the most fun one I’ve ever played with. The grit, the power, the pop, all amazing. No need to overgrip since the original grip is awesome. It’s become my main, as my Joola Mod TA 15 collects dust in my bag.
